Srinivasan read Physics in the National University of Singapore on a SAF Local Training Award graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Physics. He then served in the Singapore Armed Forces rising to the rank of Major.

During his army years, he studied Law and graduated with an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London. He is qualified as a Barrister-at-Law, England and as a Legal Practitioner in New South Wales, Australia.

Srinivasan commenced legal practise in 1998 at M/s Harry Elias Partnership and later in M/s Cooma Lau & Loh specializing in Litigation, both civil and criminal, including Banking Law, the Law of Building Contracts, Bankruptcy, Insolvency, Execution and other related work. In the area of construction litigation and has advised and acted for Owners/Employers, Main contractors, Domestic and nominated sub contractors, Architects and Consultants.

He has acted and continues to act in a number of commercial matters of significant value. He has acted for clients both local and overseas and has worked with Queen's Counsel and Senior Counsel.

In the area of insolvency practice, Srinivasan has acted for creditors, liquidators as well as companies facing winding up in a variety of insolvency matters. He has successfully acted in several debt restructuring schemes acting closely with financial advisers, banks and other financial institutions and investors to restructure debts up to S$60million. He has appeared at various levels of Court in Singapore. He has also acted as counsel in arbitrations.

Srinivasan has done corporate work, such as the drafting of building contracts, joint venture agreements, service agreements and maintenance agreements and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts.

In particular the corporate work carried out by him includes:-
(1) Acting for a telecommunications infrastructure provider in negotiating and drafting a license for the island wide use of the client's infrastructure by a telco service provider
(2) Negotiating and drafting the installation and maintenance contract in respect of telecommunications infrastructure
(3) The negotiation and drafting of joint venture agreements relating to the development of software systems;
(4) Negotiating and drafting a Research and Development project funded by the Government of Singapore.
(5) Negotiating and drafting contracts with overseas partners, suppliers, vendors etc.
(6) Drafting for the construction industry various contracts including, Design and build contracts, Sub Contracts to support a Main Contracts, Consultants contracts and Supply contracts.
(7)Advising and drafting the requisite agreements to facilitate Sale & Purchase of businesses.

Srinivasan advises several organizations such as social and country clubs, sports associations and schools. He is also engaged in pro bono work both on a formal and informal basis.

He was the legal adviser to the SAF Force Commander during the tsunami relief operation in Aceh.

Other than legal work, in his last few years in SAF, Srinivasan managed several projects in MINDEF including the development of Simulation Systems, Resource Allocation and Optimisation Systems and other training systems. After leaving the SAF, Srinivasan continued to be engaged as a Subject Matter Expert consultant by what the Systems and Computer Organisation. He worked closely with IT engineers and IT project managers.

Srinivasan continues to serve the SAF in NS and currently holds the rank of Colonel.

He is married and is a proud father of three girls.
